Review - Gone

29. Gone by Michael Grant (3.5 stars)

I gave this 3 stars on Goodreads but thinking about it now I preferred it to some of the others I have given 3 stars so upgrading it to 3.5!  I bought this as part of an offer on Amazon but then realised that the author is going to be at Yalc which was a good coincidence.  This is another one which is part of a really long series and I would definitely read the next one, it was an interesting concept (everyone under 15 suddenly disappears and the kids who are left need to work out what is happening but more importantly survive and look after the really young ones etc). As I think I told you, one of the kids is pretty sadistic so this book is dark in places.  I guess it reminded me of The Maze Runner in some ways, and of Lord of the Flies (at least the ballet version I have seen:) 

Worth a read definitely, I am interested to see how the story continues to develop and what the eventual explanation for everything is.
